Game description: Jak is back in the 3D combat racing game Jak X: Combat Racing. After saving the world in Jak 3, Jak finds out he must save the world once again; this time, by entering a combat racing tournament. As Jak, you must compete in a handful of game modes while progressing through a nonlinear story. The game includes a variety of power-ups, tracks, and customization options. Multiplayer and online modes are also available.
In Jak X: Combat Racing, the player controls characters from the Jak and Daxter series, all of which race in customizable dune buggy-like vehicles. The two main modes of play in the game are Adventure and Exhibition. Jak, the main character of the series, is the only playable character in the Adventure mode, and must participate in a series of Eco Cup Championships in the game's story to obtain an antidote to a poison he and his comrades have consumed.

The patch makes the game run, but soon it will hang, and stop. To fix this, switch to Progressive Scan and 60 Hz, it makes the hanging happen later. | VoidX |

Game boots fine without patch. Only tested it in progressive mode. Has some minor slowdown issues without speedhacks but I don't notice with them enabled. Level 3 EE Cyclerate causes the game not to boot, but level 2 works just fine. Manual save soft locks the game, but if you reboot, the save file was successfully created and autosave works properly. Minor and random graphical issues abound, sometimes the HUD glitches, but nothing that can't be worked past. Splitscreen is still completely broken graphically. All graphical issues including splitscreen seem fixed in software mode. | Darkshadows |

Trivia
- Also known as Jak X
- The game sets to widescreen when it is prompted by the 16:9 ratio setting in the PS2 internal menu.
- Game-breaking bug: The game autosaves if it is started with a memory card, which does not work properly on certain PS2 models (reportedly most black slims as well as at least one fat model) and all PS3s, allegedly due to the developers not having time to finish the QA process. The autosave symbol blinks on and off indefinitely when the glitch occurs as it constantly attempts to save, which sometimes crashes the game. Upon a reset, the the Jak X save data will become corrupted and unable to load, leaving a block of 984kb of undeletable corrupted data on the memory card.
A workaround is to play the game with no memory card inserted and only insert it when necessary. The North American Greatest Hits edition is reported to have this bug fixed, though it is unknown whether this is also the case for the European Platinum Edition.
Known Issues
Player 2's screen is corrupted in split-screen mode
- Status: Active
- Type: Major
- Description: Player's 2's screen is entirely white with only HUD icons visible, which will repeat themselves in a small trail.
- Workaround: Only known workaround is software mode.
- First tested on: 1.7.0-dev-191-g5118aba45
- Last tested on: v1.7.5769
- Github: Issue #4964
Messed up textures
- Status: Active
- Type: Minor
- Description: Broken textures at a distance.
- Workaround: This can be partially resolved in recent v1.5.0 git builds. Go to Config -> Video (GS) -> Plugin Settings, and set Mipmapping to at least "Basic".
Note: this will cause for other textures to be Broken at a distance. Alternatively use software mode.
Afterburner detaches from the back of vehicle
- Status: Active
- Type: Minor
- Description: While boosting, the afterburner frequently comes off the back of the vehicle, both horizontally and vertically. This especially seems to happen during tight drifts.
- Workaround: Go to per-game emulation settings and uncheck 'Enable Instant VU1'. This will have a small impact on performance.

Fixed Issues
'SCEA presents' splash screen cut in half
- Status: Fixed
- Type: Minor
- Description: After booting, the splash screen that reads "Sony Computer Entertainment America presents" etc. is completely blacked out.
- Workaround: Update to the latest nightly version of PCSX2.
Audio glitch during hang-time counter
- Status: Fixed
- Type: Minor
- Description: While jumping, the hang-time counter ticking noise instead sounds like a semi truck's horn.
- Workaround: Update to the latest nightly version of PCSX2.
- First tested on: v1.5.0-dev-3283-ge2d899231
- Last tested on: v1.7.2370

Non-Issues
Framerate dips (present on original hardware)
- Type: Not an issue
- Description: On certain tracks, the game's framerate can dip to well below the target 60 FPS. This is the fault of the game and is present on original hardware.
- Workaround: Set the EE clock speed to 130%. Use this at your own risk, as changing the clock speed can cause instability (I was not able to notice problems at 130%), and it will be more taxing on your system.
- First tested on: v1.7.5842
- Last tested on: v1.7.5842
Interpreted EE causes game not to boot
- Type: Not an issue
- Description: The EE running in interpreted mode (ostensibly supposed to be more accurate but slower) fails to boot the game.
- Workaround: Re-enable EE recompilation.
- First tested on: v1.7.5550
- Last tested on: v1.7.5550
- Github: Issue #10795
Keira gets stuck on the Dethdrome track
- Type: Not an issue
- Description: Keira downwarps to a lower portion of the track, messing up her pathing AI. This is believed to be a problem on original hardware.
- Workaround: No known workaround. Check the PCSX2 Discord for more information.
