|Comments=Runs at full speed on Software mode, but has severe framerate drops when hit by spells or spells with high polygon count are used. Hardware lags badly on menus, but runs at around 50FPS during gameplay and has much less severe framerate drops. NTSC-J often has lower framerates due to comic book-style cutouts that appear on screen (A feature exclusive to the NTSC-J version). On Hardware mode, certain spells have a glowing effect that can't be seen on Software mode nor on console. VU Cycle Stealing causes choppy framerate but does improve speed. Direct3D9 (HW) has severe issues with polygon clipping. Upscaling also causes lines to appear in menu textures. Despite lagging problems, both versions run near perfectly. None of the speedhacks slow down or cause glitches.  No particular differences between PCSX2 1.2.1, 1.4.0, or 1.5.0.
|Comments=When playing with lower-end computers, there are severe framerate drops when the player is hit by spells or spells with a high polygon count are used (runs fine on my current computer). Menus and cutscenes lag badly; none of the settings seem to aid this issue at all. The NTSC-J port often has lower framerates due to the comic book-style cutouts that appear on screen (A feature exclusive to the NTSC-J version). Hardware renderers can change the appearance of certain spells (namely Brago's), and these effects also vary between computers. VU Cycle Stealing causes choppy framerate but it does improve speed. Hardware renderers cause lines to appear in menu textures (mostly noticeable if you upscale). Despite some performance issues, the game runs near perfectly. No observable differences between PCSX2 revisions.
