Game description: Based on the comic book of the same name, Ultimate Spider-Man lets you play as either the hero Spider-Man or his arch-nemesis, Venom. Use the unique combat techniques of either Spider-Man or Venom to battle a host of Spider-Man characters. Artistic contributions by the creators of the series make for an authentic Spider-Man experience.
Stylistically, the game differs from its predecessor, Spider-Man 2, in that it employs what has been dubbed, "Comic Inking Animation technology," a form of cel shading intended to simulate the appearance of a comic-book.

Europe v02.00(14/06/2004), Recommended + MTVU, Automatic Game Fixes, Hardware mode is full of texture glitches and is even slower than software mode. So you have to play in software mode. Game initially works stable but after about 5-10 minutes the console starts showing lots of "GSdx: out-of-memory: texturing temporarily disabled" accompanied by the game screen shortly becoming darker and PCSX2 eventually crashes., Glitchy and slow hardware mode. GSdx runs out of memory after some time of gameplay and crashes. | |

When using hardware mode, there are missing and flickering textures, so software mode must be used. The game also uses up quite a bit of RAM, causing GSdx out of memory texturing issues leading to an eventual CTD. This will happen even if PCSX2 has been manually patched to utilize up to 4 GB of RAM. To fix this, I used Razer Cortex to shut down unneeded background processes to free up as much RAM as possible and I haven't had a crash since. There's also a minor glitch where the eyes on Spider-Man's mask are yellow or blue in color, which I haven't found a fix for. Other than that, the game ran at a consistent 60 FPS with mVU Flag Hack, MTVU, and EE Cylcerate at 2 along with the standard speedhacks. | Zanzkebar |
