The single player is modeled after the Normandy breakout, where the British, Canadian, Polish, American, and French Resistance forces pushed into the village of Chambois, France (the Falaise Gap). Unlike most other games in the Call of Duty series, the events in Call of Duty 3 are based on a single combined campaign, with the player being switched between the four nations and their respective characters for each leg of the story. There are 14 campaign missions.

|Comments=Game version SLUS-21426, BIOS: USA v02.00(14/06/2004), HW renderer results graphical problems. Software renderer needs very high CPU IPC performance. Even with my OC'ed 6700K emulation speed slowing down like 15-20%.
|Comments=Game version SLUS-21426, BIOS: USA v02.00(14/06/2004), HW renderer results graphical problems. Software renderer needs high CPU IPC and ST performance. Emulation speed slowing down like ~20% without speedhacks.

|Comments=Game version SLES-54167, BIOS: USA v01.60(07/02/2002), The game runs perfectly at 25fps with some occasional stutter. CPU usage around 50% even with my low-end 4-Cores CPU which is great. GPU usage below 30%. Make sure to use Direct3D11 or Direct3D12, other APIs have performance issues. I can say the game is finally playable in low-end machines.
