(My point isn't that the original work was crap; for 1.2.1, it was quite excellent and thorough. My point is that, because it hadn't been updated essentially whatsoever since 2015 and was predominantly created in 2014, it had become outdated crap. If I were to write a Wikipedia article about software that's 13 years old and still in development and just leave it by the wayside for seven or eight years, you'd hopefully be unsurprised when people start calling it – say it with me – outdated crap.)
