Game description: Yakuza 2, originally released in Japan as Like a Dragon 2 (龍が如く2 Ryū ga Gotoku 2), is the sequel to the action adventure video game Yakuza by Sega. The sequel takes place one year after the events of the first game. Half of the game takes place in Tokyo's Shinjuku ward, most noticeably a recreation of Shinjuku's red-light district Kabukichō renamed Kamurocho. The other half takes place in Osaka, with the fictitious Sōtenbori and Shinseicho areas modeled after Osaka's respectively Dōtonbori and Shinsekai districts.

Known Issues

Semi-transparent line in the middle of the screen

  • Status: Active
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: A semi transparent whitish line appears in the middle of the screen. Not very disturbing, because it's a very thin line and more or less transparent. Most of the time you will probably not notice it.
  • Workaround: You can use software mode to get it away.

Ghosting

  • Status: Active
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: In some areas of the game the character models, neon signs, etc. will have a ghosting like effect.
  • Workaround: Half-pixel Offset fixes it, but sadly it also exaggerates the above mentioned line problem (a second line appears across the screen, line colour will turn black).

Disc read failure at the start of Chapter 10.

  • Status: Active
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: After the end of Chapter 9, the game stops loading, with the log giving a "failed to read disc" type error.
  • Workaround: This is caused by using a plugin or virtual drive to load the ISO. Loading the ISO file directly into PCSX2 will solve the problem.
