BIOS: EU 2.00, Runs pretty decently, only slowdowns in some screens with high scaling or with many mechs in picture. DX9 has minor transparency glitches. DX10 has a consistent shadow glitch on the ground. All recommended Speed Hacks work safely. Allowing 8-Bit textures increases FPS and makes the game run smoother. The EE and GS% are always pretty low, so I assume this game works also on slower machines. However I would not recommend to increase the internal resolution too much, if your GPU is weak. 88.152.21.188

r5460 GSdx r5440 ZeroSPU2 r5403 I tried this game on r5350 as well as r5460. The game will work perfectly fine with the default settings (Audio plugin of SPU2-X) and speed hacks up until fighting the Patriarch (the final story boss). At that point, the first part of the fight will be okay. During the second part of the fight, the program itself is fine but windows will crash it every time. I was able to work around it by changing the audio plug-in to ZeroSPU2. It makes the audio sound like crap but the game will proceed just fine without crashing Lucky482

r5873 GSdx ? LilyPad ? BIOS: USA 2.20 NTSC, 2x Scaling, DX9 hardware. With default settings around 10fps. But turning on 8bit textures MASSIVELY increases the framerate to the 60fps cap! MTVU actually slows down framerates, turning it off gives around 5fps improvement. Also the ground and shadows was not rendered properly with default settings, I fixed it by enabling alpha correction and skipdraw 1 in hardware hacks. In addition, there were some bright lines on the bottom border in cutscenes so I cropped it out by setting zoom to 101 in gs window settings. Kuroko

US v02.00(14/06/2004), Defaults + MTVU (Multi-Threaded microVU1), Work fine at max speed (60fps) in hardware mode using also custom resolution (1920x1080) with only a few slowdowns (40-50fps) .

Known Issues

Lines around hair in cut scenes

  • Status: Active
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: When upscaling, the edges of hair show fine lines. (UV/rounding issue?)
  • Workaround: Use Texture Offsets: X 0000, Y 1000.
  • Notes: Not recommended. Texture Offsets cause other issues, especially this high.

Black surfaces

  • Status: Active
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: Upscaling can cause some surfaces to turn black.
  • Workaround: Use the "Disable Safe Features" option for 1.6. Use fractional upscaling multipliers (2.25/2.5/2.75/etc) for v1.7.3425+.

Fixed Issues

Bloom artifacts when upscaling

  • Status: Fixed
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: Bloom will have artifacts at the edges of the screen when upscaling.
  • Workaround: Set Round Sprite to full.
  • Notes: Round Sprite is automatically set in 1.7 by the Game Database.

Shadow and bloom misalignment

  • Status: Fixed
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: Upscaling can cause shadow/bloom misalignment.
  • Workaround: Set Half Pixel Offset to Special(Texture) in Advanced Settings and Hacks.
  • Notes: HPO is set automatically by the Game Database in 1.7.

Line through the middle of the screen

  • Status: Fixed
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: Upscaling causes a line to appear in the middle of the screen.
  • Workaround: Set Round Sprite to Full/Half.
  • Notes: This no longer seems to be the case in 1.7, and Round Sprite is already automatically set by the Game Database when upscaling.
