Game description: In 2001, Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero gave players the opportunity to tear up the highways of Tokyo. Now two years later, Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3 adds the highways of Yokohama, Osaka and Nagoya, taking total road length to a monster 200 miles. Choose accurately modeled cars from over 15 different licensed manufacturers such as Nissan, Toyota, GM, Ford, Merceds-Benz and Volkswagen. Modify your car with custom parts and challenge over 600 rivals on the highways. Are you good enough to rule the streets?

SPU2-X 2.0.0 Runs almost flawlessly. Hardware hacks remove most of the lines and makes the game look significantly better, but mess up some small parts of the menu UI. TXRguy

Known Issues

Thin vertical lines

  • Status: Fixed
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: Using high resolution in GSdx brings some thin lines over the screen.
  • Workaround: Go to Config > Video (GS) > Plugin Settings, turn on "Enable HW Hacks", go to Configure Hacks, and enable the "Align Sprite" hack. For Custom Resolution use 1260x(any) resolution. Subtract any multiple of 60 from 1260 (eg, 1200, 1140, 1080, etc) as needed for performance, but no horizontal resolution greater than 1260 works. Vertical resolution does not affect the issue.

Tunnel ringing

  • Status: Fixed
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: Increasingly loud and intense ringing sound when the player drives into a tunnel.
  • Workaround: Go to Config > Audio (SPU2) > Plugin Settings, and enable "Disable Effects Processing". Note: This option can slightly reduce the in-game audio/echo quality.

No Headlights

  • Status: Active
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: On DirectX 11 (Hardware only), any vehicles used in the game will not show the headlights appearing in the game.
  • Workaround: Use Software rendering by either going to Config > Video (GS) > Plugin Settings > Renderer and set to eiter DirectX 11 or OpenGL (Software rendering)or simply press F9. Alternatively, if you want to use Hardware mode, OpenGL hardware mode with Basic Blending Accuracy or higher takes care of the issue.
