Couldn't manage to reproduce the game hanging when loading a memory card save after loading a save state made before the save was made but it did stop recognizing the memory card and prevented saving the game but still allowed loading it.

:That is quite possible. I tested the game in 2009 (and those revisions were prone to hang with it); there were millions of changes after that. Someone should retest for the issue in the NTSC-U release and mark it as solved if the regression has been fixed for that release too. I no longer have that copy so I cannot test it. To reproduce the issue go the tent after you've started a new game and look towards the mountain using the OpenGL renderer.
