:UPDATE: Confirmed that the scene has no problems in r4600. I also noticed that the party should've been visible in the background, strangely they weren't in r3878. You know, it strikes me as odd that nobody noticed this bug, since r3878 was around for quite some time. Definitely at least a couple of months. I know Disgaea's an old game, but there are plenty of people with underpowered rigs who should have been playing it since it's pretty much THE game to play if your pc can barely handle the emu (there are probably other 2D sprite turn-based games out there for the PS2 but I doubt they're as well known as this game is). I'm gonna add this to the known issues list (since there's a solution). - [[User:Spinfx|Spinfx]] 06:10, 9 October 2011 (BST)

Can you share a memory card file with that save?

Hang in 0.9.7 (build r3878)

I first played the game on 0.9.4 using a core2duo laptop - was slow and steady, managed to complete the game. Now I'm playing using 0.9.7 (r3878) - yeah, I know there's a new official build out already, haven't upgraded due to having a whole bunch of savestates for this version I've yet to migrate to proper memcard saves. Anyway, the game seems to hang during the cutscene at the story map "Core Point No. 4", the second map of Stellar Graveyard II. After the first 3 lines of dialogue and some kind of wooshing sfx (sounds like a jetpack firing down - I'm guessing this is Kurtis' entrance), the game just stops. Music still plays and there's no error in the emu log, it's just that the game literally doesn't continue. Like if you opened the lid on your physical PS2.

Pretty sure it's not the ISO image, as I used literally the same one I created from my PS2 disc when I played back in '2008, all the way from start to finish and New Game+, so I know it's not a bad image. Only difference is that at that time I was using PCSX2 0.9.4. For now I'll save the game to memcard, then when I get around to upgrading to the latest official build, I'll test this scene again. - Spinfx 04:54, 9 October 2011 (BST)
