BIOS: USA v2.00, HACKS: Hacks: INTC, Wait Idle Loop, mVU Flag Hack, Allow 8-bit Textures (GSdx). Using EE/VU cycle speedhacks increase the speed but reduce the smoothness, not recommended. Reducing clamps cause more issues, not recommended. After GSdx r4600 the game is much slower, recommended to use GSdx r4600 max. FPS: 40-60/60. Can get 60/60FPS using the cycle rate speedhacks. | Machina |

Still playable., Software mode is needed to avoid black lines (same problem as SC2) and dull colors in rendering (wrong filtering maybe?, but hacks don't seem to fix it). | |

The game runs fine without many issues on my end, even with the sprite alignment. I just have CRC set to Patial, Blending to default, NTSC BIOS v2.00, 8-Bit Textures enabled, and safe features disabled in my machine. I do, however get facial glitches, and sometimes even get a blue screen with hud in Training. | Neigdoig |

Nightly 1.7.2651 | GSdx OpenGL, and Software Renderer |

Runs perfect with default settings,no hacks. Turning Hacks on causes issues with black lines running through the screen. There is no benefit. I have also upscaled to 2k, have FXAA, and 2x Ani Filtering enabled. Absolutely works out of the box in Nightly on Linux. I've played this prior with Ubuntu, and Fedora. Anything above PCSX2 version 1.6 should run this fantastic with OpenGL, and Software mode.
Vulkan will crash PCSX2 |

Trivia
- Original names: ソウルキャリバーIII (SLPS-25577), 소울칼리버 Ⅲ (SCKA-20059)
- Access the Progressive Scan menu by holding the Cross and Triangle keys together when the game boots up.
- The game sets to widescreen when it is prompted by the 16:9 ratio setting in the PS2 internal menu (BIOS).
- Save file corruption bug: This game has a rather infamous game-breaking glitch that occurs from having Chronicles of the Sword data on your memory card. Since this mode must be played in order to unlock all additional items for character creation, including additional disciplines and weapons, eventually encountering this glitch is inevitable. In rare cases, the bug can occur randomly on its own, as by simply having Chronicles of the Sword data on the memory card, your game is always at risk. The most well-known way to trigger it is by deleting or copying the save data for another game that was made before the Soulcalibur III data on the memory card. For some reason, doing this makes the game create a secret dummy file on the memory card that cannot be deleted. Deleting or copying save data that was made after doesn’t seem to have any adverse effects, however.
This bug exists in all US/EU versions of the game, as well as the Greatest Hits re-release. It was patched in the Japanese "2.00" release, which can only be differentiated from the "1.01" version by the SID code on the inner hub of the disc (it has to read 45T5.) There are reports of it being patched in the PAL Platinum Edition, although, this is disputed.
Notes
- If you are having trouble with frame drops due to the costly effects you should consider using "Async mix" rather than "Time-stretched" in audio options (it doesn't break the game).
