Enable INTC spin Detection., Game works fine at pretty slow speed in Gsdx software mode., It is compulsory to enable INTC spin detection to make this game work correctly else cut scenes don't finish properly and there are missing sounds in cut scenes too.

BIOS: USA v02.30(02/20/2008), This game is no longer playable in more recent versions of PCSX2. The previous user mentioned enabling the INTC spin detection setting. While this did help fix the game in much older builds of the emulator, unfortunately for those wanting to use the newer versions of PCSX2 (the current build is from November 2019), that setting no longer fixes any of the problems this game suffers from. I've searched several forums, Github pages and Youtube videos/comment sections to try and figure out how to fix this game in the newer versions of the emulator. Many others online have noted that they have the same issues with the game, which are related to the frame rate being unstable. In most games this would not be a major issue, however with the way this game was designed, the frame rate issue breaks most of the game. These issues include numerous graphical glitches, the audio and subtitles not playing at all, and the in game rendered cut scenes breaking to where they either play way too fast or they are very messed up and out of sync while playing. I have posted under the "Known Issues" section of the page on methods I have discovered to help fix this game. I currently have most of the issues fixed, the only one I'm still not able to figure out is the cut scene problem. I will update this if I'm able to figure it out. DeusDisciple

1.6.0 I finished game to the end. Very nice sharp graphics, smooth image with true 60 FPS. No glitches ( except flashlight - rendering of the light is partially broken. Some missing effects in HW mode, but nothing major ). 4x native resolution DX11 HW, 1920x1080. Opening doors and flashlight is very GPU demanding - without it i could set 8x native resolution. I use "Major graphical and audio glitches and the in game rendered cut scenes do not play properly" tweak mentioned below. I have backed up PCSX2 with configuration files and a saved position from the end of the game.
Keyboard-only controls is seamless. But, for example, tuning the radio and similar objects with the need for precise settings is not enough to press the button to the side, but you have to simulate a circle - gradually key after key "wdsa" (right) or "wasd" (left)
In "Nightmare 6" part of game it will be necessary to switch into SW mode ( F9 key ) for about 1 minute, here the flashlight works without a problem. Because without light it would be very difficult to overcome this part

Fixed Issues

Major graphical and audio glitches and the in game rendered cut scenes do not play properly.

  • Status: Fixed
  • Type: Serious
  • Description: This game has some major issues running in PCSX2, as when it's frame rate runs too far above or below 60FPS for the NTSC-U version (50FPS for PAL version), the game completely breaks in numerous ways. The audio will cut out entirely in sections, various graphics will be horribly glitched or not display at all. Also the in game rendered cut scenes will play way too fast and seems to skip most of the CS due to this. The pre-rendered cut scenes seem to be fine and not affected by these issues.
  • Workaround: Resolved as of the latest 1.7.0 development builds. If minor speed issues still occur, consider enabling Fast CDVD in Speedhacks. For older versions: Use Software mode.
