Game description: Step into the shoes of Eike, a man with the ability to travel through time. With this power, you must travel through changing time periods and use clues from the past to prevent your own murder. The actions you take affect your story path, resulting in one of multiple endings. Once you unravel the mystery in nine chapters, you can experience additional scenes. With multiple story paths and a variety of puzzles, Shadow of Destiny puts your dire fate into your own hands.
The objective of Shadow of Memories is to guide player character Eike Kusch through the fictional German town of Lebensbaum (Life's Tree) as he travels through time to prevent and unmask his murderer. In the prologue and each chapter, Eike dies, is resurrected by the non-player character Homunculus, and travels back in time before his death with the intent of changing events to prevent it.

Works at full speed on Preset 3 - Balanced. Runs well in both hardware and software modes. On Preset 4 - Aggressive the game boots, menus work fine, and the cutscenes play at full speed. However, once the game begins, the player character cannot move. The only input that gets a response is R2, which brings the player into first person. While in first person, the left stick can be used to look around as usual. While paused the left stick and d-pad can navigate the menu and other buttons work as intended. This indicates that one of the settings in Preset 4 breaks the game, but I have not yet determined exactly what causes it. Further testing will be required. Retroaesthetics
