Known Issues
Vedan: Myna Out of bounds
- Status: Active
- Type: Serious
- Description: Upon reaching Vedan: Myna, you may suffer a glitch where your character gets stuck to the roof of the map when passing over certain sections of the map, particularly on or around the railroad tracks. Sometimes the character will suddenly be thrown high into the air and fall back to the ground instead of going out of bounds.
- Workaround: Go to Config > Emulation Settings > EE/IOP tab, and set Clamping Mode to "Full". And on the VUs tab, and set Clamping Mode to "None".
- Note: This workaround should only be used in Myna, because it will cause some minor graphical and audio glitches during certain cutscenes.
Steve's Power Break crash
- Status: Active
- Type: Major
- Description: When using a custom resolution PCSX2 crashes while attempting Steve's charge attack against enemies that require 'Power Break' (holding down the X button).
- Workaround: Run the game at native or set it to a scaling factor (2x, 3x, 4x, etc), or when fighting enemies that require this attack, switch to Steve and do not use his Power Break at any moment during the battle. Instead, guard and wait for other party members to use their charge attack.
Corrupt Bloom on Juraika
- Status: Active
- Type: Minor
- Description: When on Juraika bloom effects cause a white halo to be around plants, this happens even in software mode, to correct this enable the Merge Sprite hack
Corrupt water textures
- Status: Active
- Type: Serious
- Description: In Hardware mode some corrupt textures can be seen underneath the water.
- Workaround: Go to Config > Video (GS) > Plugin Settings, turn on "Enable HW Hacks", go to Configure Hacks and enable the "Preload Frame Data" hack.
Corrupt flashbacks
- Status: Active
- Type: Serious
- Description: Flashback FMVs are corrupted.
- Workaround: This can be been fixed as of at least PCSX2 v1.4.0. Go to Config > Video (GS) > Plugin Settings, and set Renderer to "OpenGL (Hardware)". For other renderers and older PCSX2 versions go to Config > Emulation Settings > Game Fixes tab, click "Enable manual game fixes" and enable the "Switch to GSdx software rendering when an FMV plays" fix. Or manually switch to Software mode during FMV's with the F9 key.
Missing Kanji
- Status: Active
- Type: Minor
- Affected Game Versions: NTSC-J
- Description: In the Japanse Director's Cut edition of the game some kanji characters are not displayed on the game UI and subtitles. This appears to happen after you load an emulator saved state.
- Workaround: Do not use savestates. Or go to the nearest in-game save point, save to the memory card, then load the game from the title screen, everytime the issue appears.
Text appears gray instead of white in GSdx hardware renderers
- Status: Active
- Type: Minor
- Description: All text appear in a tint of gray instead of the normal white
- Workaround: Use a software renderer of GSdx or set renderer to OpenGL Hardware and Blending Unit Accuracy to Full (yes this comes with a speed hit)
Black squares
- Status: Fixed
- Type: Minor
- Description: Black squares appear behind weapons.
- Workaround: Go to Config > Video (GS) > Plugin Settings, and set Renderer to "Direct3D11 (Hardware) or "OpenGL (Hardware)". Or disable "Alpha Correction" to keep using "Direct3D9 (Hardware)".
