New field in the testing templates

What do you guys think of adding a new field to the testing templates for date submitted? It'd be nice to have a frame of reference for when a certain test was performed. Specially since sometimes people don't include the version of PCSX2 they're using. XD -Karasuhebi (talk) 08:07, 19 July 2015 (BST)

Should be simple to implement.

^ If we add a hidden field where this is automatically placed for a user then it'll be automatically signed with a time and date. (Like you would normally sign your chats here with 4 of those characters so your name is included.) -- Ryudo (talk) 10:17, 19 July 2015 (BST)
OK cool. Yeah let's do that. What do you think Ngng? Also I thought four tildes were to sign your name with the date and three tildes were for just the date? -Karasuhebi (talk) 20:17, 19 July 2015 (BST)
Nope. It goes like this:

~~~ = Ryudo (talk)
~~~~ = Ryudo (talk) 21:28, 19 July 2015 (BST)
~~~~~ = 21:28, 19 July 2015 (BST)
Oh OK cool. So let's see what Ngng says! :D -Karasuhebi (talk) 00:08, 20 July 2015 (BST)
I still don't understand why we need another general talk place when there's already the community portal page that should serve this purpose as good as any other page.
As for the dates, if you have in mind a separate column in testing tables I'd say that's not possible because someone would have to go through all existing cases and fill them with info manually. We have that kind of info of course (in pages history and forum messages) but who would do this crazy amount of work just to add this optional info? I admit this thought did cross my mind in the past but I put it aside as a whim (the only purpose I could think of is making it possible for the guy who played the game to wonder that another fellow played it a year ago, which is not much).
However, if you think of adding the dates in the commentary field, I'm all for it. Unfortunately we could not use any tricks here, ~~~~~ couldn't be hidden in the template or added automatically on article commit, it's up to the editor to use it. --Ngng (talk) 07:17, 20 July 2015 (BST)
Honestly, test cases where PCSX2 versions aren't given should just be removed or whatever. We can easily figure out the date from whatever version was used. If you happen to stumble upon a test case with a majority of "?" in there, and only a 'comment' then I don't even see a reason for it to be there. That's just my opinion on it though lol. And I'm not going to chase down test cases like this. But if I were to stumble on one by accident while editing a page then it wouldn't stop me from just getting rid of that entry if there's other more useful ones on that page. -- Ryudo (talk) 15:35, 20 July 2015 (BST)
Please do not remove entries when there are no more cases on that page or when they are the only "playable" entries. I've spent some of months to collect them from page histories, every entry was added and edited by hand. By the way afaik we don't have entries without PCSX2 version apart from one or two special cases, but I don't remember where or why. --Ngng (talk) 17:18, 20 July 2015 (BST)
New category for online games
Hey what do you guys think of making a new category for games with online capabilities like the SOCOM series and the Resident Evil: Outbreak series? That would make them easier to find here in the wiki. -Karasuhebi (talk) 14:27, 25 August 2015 (BST)
