::I noticed that all of the spam articles are mostly made with Capitalized Words Like This in the title, except the last word. (with the exception of one article having "a job" not being capitalized). Any way something like that could be fed into a spam filter so that the article isn't made and a red flag appears? Probably not, but it looks like it is one group creating the accounts on different IPs and they all look like they are just spambots with no person behind them, so it might be worth analyzing their patterns if they don't end up going away. ::So is it an IP ban, too? If so, is he using a proxy? If so, we could try blocking all of the proxy IPs listed at proxy.org - I imagine that's what he would try to be using if he was a human. If it is a bot, I did also notice that the time between account creation and creating the spam is about 10-30 minutes, so if an article with the weird capitalization I mentioned is created in the first hour after an account is created, it could be blocked? We could also try blocking any link posted by the spammer and prevent any changes (including new article creation) if that link is posted. ::Well, I'm against the open-proxy blocking - this could possibly block a lot of users, especially in countries that only use one/few IPs (such as in the middle-east). And, like mentioned in the article, spammers could log in on a non-proxy, and then switch over to a proxy (it does not block logged-in users). What I would be in favor of is putting in some sort of captcha in combination of blocking users from creating articles until a certain amount of edits are made (five should do) and see where we go from there. :These captchas will only affect pages with external links, afaik only those edits actually ADD an external link to a page. If this is the case the captchas are no longer a concern. And open proxy blocking should be applied only to these particular edits with external links. The other way would be just to restore the rights to delete pages and to bad and IPs and those spammers will only generate some useless traffic. Not a big deal.

I took a look at what Brazil uses for their TV frequencies and discovered the "PAL-M" mode. I was thinking that this could perhaps be added to the template that covers game information, but had the potential to have this part added? I was thinking that this could be done to any other frequencies that don't fit into the three on there. For example, "Air Raid 3" was released in both the EU and Brazil. :It's also the issue with PAL-G (for German games). But it's still PAL in its heart so it could be addressed in the PAL section commentary. We can, of course, modify the template to indicate all those regions but it may only bring confusion to users (besides I doubt that many PAL-M games behave differently compared to PAL, it's possible but very unlikely). Things to do on the wiki (besides adding test info to game pages)

To get wiki in shape we need to finish (at least) these things:

Hard to finish

  • Finish unfinished game articles
    • Add description, developers, genre
    • Add links to reviews/wikipedia, CRCs.
    • Add pictures to the pages don't have them
  • Remove stubs for finished articles (contain all the above info + at least one test case)
  • Finish adding developers pages
    • Cross-link dev pages with games using navboxes

Somewhat easier to finish

  • Re-design and update main page
  • Update guides pages
