Bios 2.30, directX 10 (hardware), allow 8 bit textures enabled, native resolution, interlacing set to auto to reduce the flickering, texture filtering enabled for better graphics (even so there are places where the letters of the text will be full of jagged borders), logarithimic z enabled to avoid graphic issues. It's playable with slowdowns when there are several monsters in the screen or visual effects such as fire or fog. Speedhacks: Both EE cyclerate and VU cycle stealing must be set on 1 because otherwise the audio/video of the cutscenes will be out of sync (even so they will run slow). INTC spin detection, wait loop detection and mVU flag hacks must be enabled. Sound interpolation = linear. Check the issue about bad graphics in the undersea temple in the bottom of the page. Felipe

Known Issues

Decals flickering

  • Status: Active
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: Some textures of blood and ads on the walls are flashing. Probably the problem is related to mipmaps, even the software does not solve the problem.
  • Workaround: There is no solution.

Out of Sync FMVs

  • Status: Active
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: Video/Sound is out of sync during FMVs
  • Workaround: Happens when using Dolby Prologic II Digital from in-game options, select any of the other in-game audio options. This also happens when you dont use both EE Cycle Rate/VU Cycle Stealing = 1 on pcsx 1.2.1

Missing numbers on sewer padlock

  • Status: Fixed
  • Type: Serious
  • Description: In the third level(sewer level), there is a padlock. The numbers will not show up in Hardware mode.
  • Workaround: Fixed on 1.6.0 (You must change to software mode pressing F9 on previous versions to see the padlock, press F9 to change back to hardware mode).

Map not showing

  • Status: Fixed
  • Type: Serious
  • Affected Game Versions: PAL
  • Description: Map of the game (access by L2 button or in menu) isn't showing, only the background appears.
  • Workaround: The glitch is caused by the PAL widescreen patch! Don't use it and the map should be fine.

Characters not appearing correctly

  • Status: Fixed
  • Type: Minor
  • Affected Game Versions: all versions
  • Description: Characters not appearing correctly
  • Workaround: Set VU Clamping to Extra + Preserve Sign. Fixed in 1.7.0 dev builds.

PAL 50 black screen

  • Status: Fixed
  • Type: Minor
  • Affected Game Versions: PAL
  • Description: the PAL 50 option has a black screen
  • Workaround: Use Fast Texture Invalidation

Resolution scaling does not work

  • Status: Active
  • Type: Minor
  • Affected Game Versions: PAL
  • Description: Resolution scaling with the GS does not work with both 2-8x Native and Custom Resolution.
  • Workaround: Partially fixed from May 2nd 1.7.0 dev build onward, some cutscenes and the menus still render badly.

Bad graphics after getting the red disk in the undersea temple and later when you are playing with Jacques.

  • Status: Active
  • Type: Minor
  • Affected Game Versions: USA
  • Description: The scenery/characters have bad graphics after reaching the area that was locked with the red disk at the undersea temple.
  • Workaround: Use software mode to fix this or DirectX 9 which makes the problem less worse if you are on older versions of pcsx2 like me.
