EE CycleRate (3): noticeable speedup. INTC Sync Hack: small if any speedup. Idle Loop Fast Forward: noticeable speedup. mVU Flag Hack: Good speed up. mVU Block Hack: Good Speed up. MTVU: Noticeable speedup. Only played the beginning. Only issues are of course the minor graphical glitches in the subtitle text due to upscaling. Rather low on the scale of CPU demand. Works great, played through the whole game, only lag during major effects, mostly water and giant magic effects (during Boss Battles, Cutscenes, Summons) But, only had one major crash with Chernabog (giant black devil in The End of the World) repeatedly, but other then that nothing major. Also, rather low on the scale of CPU demand. Bot2345

Trivia

  • Original names: キングダム ハーツ (SLPS-25105) & (SLPM-66122)

Known Issues

Parts of the title screen and other garbage data can be seen in videos

  • Status: Active
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: Jumbled up parts of the title screen and other graphics can been seen in the letter boxing area during per-rendered cut scenes
  • Workaround: Use GSdx software mode; enable software mode during cut scenes.

Sunlight can be seen through walls and objects

  • Status: Active
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: Sunlight can sometimes be seen through various walls and objects.
  • Workaround: Use GSdx software mode; however, this minor issue is not really noticeable and not worth the performance hit.

Visual artifacts in subtitles when using scaling

  • Status: Active
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: Visual artifacts can be seen in subtitles when using scaling.
  • Workaround: Use PCSX2 SVN r5560 or newer and use the TC offset hack with (525,0).

Intro logos changing sizes or thin lines in certain textures or logos

  • Status: Active
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: The beginning logos can change scale or have thin lines during up-scaling signifying the texture is either overlapping or is "tiling." This is a possible limitation of the emulator or possible rounding in coding that would have otherwise gotten by in native resolution. Could also split the pause menu on larger up-scaling.
  • Workaround: Using the built-in resolutions (2x native, 3x native, etc.) (as this game does not like being widescreen) and enabling TC Offset Hacks can both make certain textures clearer and move them into a more (not 100 percent accurate) position. Using 2x native, both TC offsets will need to be set to 100, adding 100 to both multiplications. Anybody using a custom resolution will either need to do the math or just try setting both TC Offsets to numbers in between 0 and 1000. Both should scale with from the native Resolution.

Repeated Crashes at or around same spot

  • Status: Fixed
  • Type: Serious
  • Description: Repeated Crashes at or around same spot.
  • Workaround: Use GSdx DirectX 9 in native or DirectX 9 software mode, uses the recommended settings bar to safest possible settings, and turn of all hacks that may compromise compatibility (the widescreen hack appears to work fine) until you are out of area (Defeating a boss or world). If that does not fix or help alleviate crashing, set EE and VU to full and extra (respectively).
