Europe v02.00(14/06/2004), as they said in the comments on the official website of the PCSX2 emulator for PAL-game and everything works 100% at 1080p (60 frames). There were artifacts from small black squares, and now they are not there, because, I reconfigured the emulator. Chern40+7

USA v02.30(20/02/2008), Software renderer, Without it no matter what I do assets are missing textures popping in and out. Auto flush Edge antialiasing, Minmapping. 12 rending threads, Async Texture loading, load textures, Precache Textures. All this made the game only have SLIGHT slow downs and only for a brief moment. Otherwise played the entire game and beat it to test settings. Geekyjet

Known Issues

Graphic corruption

  • Status: Active
  • Type: Serious
  • Description: (Hardware Render) Graphical artifacts on the right quarter/third of the screen. Some levels has shadow flickering problem. (ex: Arrival at Hogwarts, Flying Pitch levels)
  • Workaround:
  1. As of November 2017 on the latest v1.5.0 development builds this issue can be fixed with enabling the "Frame Buffer Conversion" Hardware hack.
  2. For older versions use Direct3D with Partial CRC Hack Level.
  3. For fixing shadow flickering problem at "Flying Pitch" scene use recommended settings with "Instant VU1 hack: on with MTVU". At this time there is no workaround/fix for "Arrival at Hogwarts level" shadow flickering problem even with software renderer.

Fixed Issues

Bottom section of screen gets cut off when using Hardware Rendering.

  • Status: Fixed
  • Type: Major
  • Description: Upscaling the video output from the native PS2 resolution to any other resolution causes the bottom section of the screen (about 1/6th) to get cut off and is replaced with a black bar instead.
  • Workaround: (23/9/21) Going to Config > Graphics Settings and unchecking "Conservative Buffer Allocation" under "Hardware Renderer Settings" will fix this issue.

Game freezes during gameplay.

  • Status: Fixed
  • Type: Major
  • Description: The game will not work properly since it will randomly crash.
  • Workaround: This patch makes the game playable.

Vif1: Unknown VifCmd!

  • Status: Fixed
  • Type: Serious
  • Description: Anytime you start a new game or load a savegame, the game may freeze with a bunch of Vif1: Unknown VifCmd! messages, even if the cut-scene has already started.
  • Workaround: Fixed in emulator build v1.7.0 dev-1996 and this problem in the console log and in game was no longer repeated. For older versions: do not extend VU Cycle Stealing to the end, because this may cause the game to freeze in gameplay.
