Game description: Fully "armed" with his chainsaw, trusty boomstick, and trademark quips, Ash must once again save Dearborn from the unspeakable horrors spawned from The Book of the Dead. After a vortex to the undead is unwittingly opened, deadites swarm through Dearborn, turning humans into zombies. Now, with Dearborn in chaos and citizens begging for help, Ash must hack and slash his way through the streets and figure out how to close the vortex. Ash soon learns that all is not what it seems--those he trusts may be plotting against him, and the history of Dearborn might be irrevocably changed.
Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick allows players to assume the role of Ash, the chainsaw-armed hero from the Evil Dead trilogy. Players will fend off hordes of Deadites with several weapons including the shovel, gatling gun, shotgun and chainsaw.

As before this game still crashes pcsx2 right after the final loading screen to go ingame.

Gets ingame again now., Hardware mode of gsdx has slight corruption on the picture and looks fine in software mode. This is bordering on playable, but still seems a bit unstable with random long pauses ingame. Runs considerably slow (obviously) as VU1 must be in interpreter mode to get ingame.

I played around for about half an hour. Game runs at over full speed with Gsdx HW mode with some minor glitches and as expected runs little slow but perfectly with SW mode., Gsdx HW mode suffers from some lighting bugs and left over textures. Looks ok in Software mode.

Known Issues

Red and Green garbage on right side of screen

  • Status: Active
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: The right side of the screen will be covered by depth buffer leakage.
  • Workaround: For 1.6.0 and older: Enable "Large Framebuffer". For 1.7.0 and newer: Disable "Conservative Buffer Allocation". This will still leave a thin strip along the right edge of the screen, which can be cropped by setting Zoom to 101% in Config > Emulation Settings > GS Window.

Black boxes covering top and bottom of screen

  • Status: Active
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: Translucent black boxes appear on the top and bottom of the screen, stopping short of the center and of the left edge.
  • Workaround: Use a software renderer.
