Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King

Developer(s): Level-5
Genre: RPG
Game review links: IGN.com
Game review score: 9/10

Test configuration on Windows:

PCSX2 version: r1884
Graphics by GDSX: 1846
Sound by SPU2-X: 1.2.0
DVD plugin is Linuz Iso CDVD: 0.9.0
BIOS version: USA v2.0

Comments: Its a very GPU intensive game, nVidia cards will preform better then ATI cards. Be sure to enable 8-bit textures in GDSX. Hack comments: None seem to increase performance, VU Cycle Steal will give you 60+ FPS but the slowdown will still be seen as if it was not on.

Test configuration on Linux:

PCSX2 version: untested
Graphics by ZZogl: untested
Sound by SPU2-X: untested

PC specs used to test the game:

CPU: At least a 3.0GHz+ CPU, the game does not benefit from speedhacks.
GPU: With a Radeon HD4870 you can play the game at full speed at all times on native res (assuming you have a 3.0GHz+ CPU) but even changing the resolution to 1024*768 will give you slowdown in some instances.
