Game review score: 8.5/10
Game description: A game in the ".hack" series. Also known as ".hack//Kansen Kakudai Vol. 1" in Japan.

Test configuration on Windows:

PCSX2 version: 0.9.8
Graphics by GSDX: r4600
Sound by SPU2-X: r4600
Pad plugin is Lilypad: r4510
BIOS version: USA v02.00

Comments:

  • The game can be run at full speed without using speedhacks.
  • Having Cycle Rate (3), INTC Sync Hack, and Wait Idle Loop Hack and mVU flag hack does not seem to break the game. Use them when you experience speed problems.

Test configuration on Linux:

PCSX2 version: 1.0.0
Graphics by GSDX: 0.1.16
Sound by SPU2-X: 2.0.0
Pad plugin is OnePAD: 1.1.0
BIOS version: USA v01.60

PC specs used to test the game:

CPU: Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5400 (3.6GHz)
GPU: Geforce 9600GT

Comments: Fine up to 4x native resolution.

Known Issues:

Random crashes

In old versions it would crash randomly after playing for a while.

  • Solution: Requires using microVU 0 and 1 as VU recompilers. Unknown if still needed but it is the default setting.

Shadows

Shadows are either missing or appear as big garbage in the ground

  • Solution: Software mode (F9) shows them correctly.
