Game description: Max Payne is a man with nothing to lose--a fugitive undercover cop framed for murder, and now hunted by the cops and the mob. Max can wield a variety of weapons including pistols, submachine guns, shotguns, sniper rifles, grenades, and Molotov cocktails. Prepare yourself for an involving story combined with slick action.
The first game of the Max Payne trilogy. It centers on the NYPD Detective Max Payne, who attempts to avenge the murder of his family. It features a gritty neo-noir style and uses graphic novel panels (with voice-overs) in place of animated cutscenes to narrate the game.

Noticeable lag in the opening cutscene, but this was before I enabled MTVU. Full speed (for emulation), but the game lags even on PS2. I tried increasing the EE cyclerate, but that just made the framerate even more inconsistent (sometimes it'd lag and sometimes it'd run too fast). No crashes or other major issues. Fully playable.
