Game description: Sly and his crew are back and ready to pull off another series of big heists. Word is out that Interpol has excavated the robotic remains of Clockwerk--Sly's nemesis and sworn enemy of the Cooper clan--and it's up to you to prevent it from being reassembled. To do this, you must once again enter the thieving world of pickpocketing, vent crawls, rooftop chases, and stealth attacks. Sly 2: Band of Thieves takes you on an adventure across numerous locations, including Paris, Prague, India, and the Canadian Wilderness.

Speedhacks: MTVU Enabled - Default Preset 2 (Safe) Emulation settings, 1080p, 3x Internal Resolution, and MSAA 4x with absolutely no lag during cutscenes and large maps like older PCSX2 versions. Also recommend TC offset X 280, Y 580 as best I could get to fix ghosting. MSAA doesn't seem to have any defects, except for slight texture forming which an untrained eye cannot see. Still has shadow bounding box issues in the titlescreen intro and a couple other areas. Alpha stencil fixes this but breaks model shadows. There is noticeable health bar bounding issues that flicker, but it doesn't bother gameplay.
PAL Windows 10 Pro x64
  • Intel Xeon X5460 4Ghz
  • EVGA GTX480 SSC @830 Core
1.5.0 GSdx32-SSE4 SPU2-X BIOS: Europe v1.6

Finished the game and didnt have any issues. Used only recommended speed hacks, and EE set to -2

PAL Windows 10 Home x64
  • Intel Core 6600K
  • Palit Geforce GTX 1060 6GB
1.5.0 GSdx32-AVX
  • Mode: HW OpenGL
  • Disabled "Allow 8-bit textures"
  • Skipdraw = 1
Spu2-X BIOS: Europe v1.6

Restricting 8-bit textures led to the game being 100% playable with no slowdowns

Known Issues

Outline aliasing

  • Status: Active
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: Because PCSX2 does not implement edge antialiasing in Hardware mode, many of the outlines are jagged (aliased).
  • Workaround: Use Software mode.

Fixed Issues

Incorrect Line Upscaling

  • Status: Fixed
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: When upscaling the game to higher resolution, the cel shader outlines become too thick and aren't in their right place.
  • Workaround: Update to the latest nightly version of PCSX2.

Incorrect Geometric Shadows

  • Status: Fixed
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: Shadows of objects in the background or concealed by other geometry will render on top of objects in the foreground.
  • Workaround: Update to the latest nightly version of PCSX2.

No Dynamic Shadows

  • Status: Fixed
  • Type: Major
  • Description: Dynamic shadows, such as on characters and mobile objects, are not rendered using Direct3D 11 in builds as late as 1.6.0. This can have adverse effects during gameplay, as some segments use shadows to warn of incoming obstacles.
  • Workaround: Update to the latest nightly version of PCSX2.
