Game description: Vice City, 1984. Opportunity abounds in a city emerging from the swamps, its growth fueled by the violent power struggle in a lucrative drug trade. Construction is everywhere as a shining metropolis rises from foundations of crime and betrayal. As a soldier, Vic Vance has always protected his dysfunctional family, his country, himself. One bad decision later and that job is about to get much harder. Kicked out onto the streets of a city torn between glamour and gluttony, Vic is faced with a stark choice - build an empire or be crushed.

•Will run at 60 FPS while your character is facing in certain directions, but will drop to ghastly speeds when facing in others (about 20 FPS and can drop even more). Software mode is quite fast, although. •Enabling 'Allow 8-bit textures' in GSdx is a must while playing this game, as it gives a great performance boost when the GPU is the bottleneck. •Setting the "FramerateNTSC=59.94" or "FrameratePAL=50.0" lines in the pcsx2_vm.ini file to 30/25 can play the game at full speed but lower smoothness even in slower PC. •Scaling kills this game. Cant even use 2x unless using Allow 8-bit textures.

1.7.0 (dev-1545) GSdx SPU2-X 2.0.0 Completed the story with no issues and maintained full speed the vast majority of the time. Enable GPU Palette Conversion for a notable speedup. Note that disabling the framelimiter at any point may cause the lighting to start flickering when you enable it again, and this can only be fixed by saving and loading through the memcard. I recommend disabling "Trails" in the game options, and setting Skipdraw to 1x1 in GSdx HW Hacks to remove the "double vision" bug for distant objects. CynicMimic
