Game description: The lives of the three valiant heroes are yours to command in this epic quest of good versus evil. A young swordsman named Darius, his childhood friend Ruyan, and a mysterious woman named Faeana embark on a quest to stop the mad wizard Darsul from destroying their homeland. To make matters worse, each character suffers from an evil sorcerer's curse that will kill them all if they don't find the cure. Now, you must use each character's special skills, combo attacks, and weapons through the ruins of an ancient civilization in the effort to save their land and their lives.
Forever Kingdom takes place directly before the events of Evergrace. Darius lived a somewhat sheltered life with his parents in the small village of Solta. Though not having any siblings, Darius was very close to his friend Sharline, whom he cared for like a sister. However, Darius' simple home life in Solta would come to a tragic end when assassins hired by the secluded village of Morea murdered Darius' parents for unknown reasons. In addition to facing the loss of his family, Sharline was nowhere to be found, leaving Darius with the conclusion that she was also killed.

Known Issues

Textures render incorrectly in Hardware renderers.

  • Status: Active
  • Type: Serious
  • Description: Some textures such as water are not rendering correctly and may start flickering.
  • Workaround: Go to Config > Video (GS) >Plugin Settings > Enable HW Hacks > Advanced Settings and Hacks > Enable Preload Frame Data.
  • Note: If you use upscaling also enable Large Frame Buffer.

Bad skybox in Hardware renderers.

  • Status: Active
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: The skybox is being rendered incorrectly or incomplete in the NTSC-U and NTSC-J versions of the game while using any of the Hardware renderers.
  • Workaround: Go to Config > Video (GS) >Plugin Settings > Enable HW Hacks > Advanced Settings and Hacks > Enable Frame Buffer Conversion.
  • Note: This can solve the shadows problem, but as a result it may also cause certain objects to disappear from the screen and bad transitioning during cutscenes. Switching between Software and Hardware mode (Using F9) may resolve the bad transitions.

Missed textures when using Hardware renderers.

  • Status: Active
  • Type: Minor
  • Description: Certain objects, such as gates, have missing textures in any of the Hardware renderers and only have parts of shadows rendered on top of them.
  • Workaround: Use Software mode.

Interlacing signals are visable

  • Type: Note (not an issue)
  • Description: When the camera is being moved, interlacing is clearly noticable regardless of what Interlacing setting is being used in GSdx options.
  • Workaround: For NTSC (CRC - E3C4037C) version use this code:
//Interlacing Fix
  • Note: Subtitles in FMV may flicker when using this. In order to solve it, go to Config > Video (GS) > Plugin Settings > Interlacing > Set it to Automatic or Blend tff.

You can also simply disable the subtitles in the game options.

Game crashes.

  • Type: Note (not an issue)
  • Description: After getting in-game, PCSX2 will crash.
  • Workaround: Go to Config > Emulation Settings > Speedhacks > Make sure MTVU is disabled.
