Game description: Need for Speed: Undercover has players racing through speedways, dodging cops and chasing rivals as they go deep undercover to take down an International crime syndicate. The game heralds the return of high-intensity police chases and introduces the all-new 'Heroic Driving Engine' -- a unique technology that generates incredible high-performance moves at 180 miles per hour during breathtaking highway battles. A mix of computer graphics and live-action movies immerses gamers in the rich world of the Tri-City Bay Area. The city's open-world environment features over 80 miles of roads, including an enormous highway system that sets the stage for highway battles. These high-speed, high-stake chase sequences push players to the limit as they fight off cops and opponents while whipping through traffic at 180 miles per hour. An intelligent new A.I. mechanic delivers a realistic and high-energy action driving experience. Going back to the franchise's roots, Need for Speed Undercover features more aggressive and intelligent cops whose sole purpose is to take down the player quickly and by any means necessary. Need for Speed Undercover also features the series' signature car customization, real-world damage and realistic driving physics. The game includes some of the hottest licensed cars such as the Audi R8, BMW M6 and Lexus IS-F.
The player is set in the story as a police officer, who goes undercover into the criminal underground of Tri-City, a fictional city where the game is based. The player has to take on dangerous 'jobs' and compete in races in order to infiltrate and take down a ruthless international crime smuggling syndicate, consisting of illegal street racers and car thieves. The player's only contacts to the police are federal handler Chase Linh, played by Maggie Q, and later Lt. Jack M. Keller played by Paul Pape.

Extremely slow all around. Ingame has flickering graphics with console flooding with GSdx out of memory errors - disabling textures temporarily. Crashes shortly ingame.

USA v02.20(10/02/2006), Standard Speedhackers +EE Cycle stealin-2 and VU Stealing -2+MTVU=60FPS, None. Hardware mode extreme slower, Software mode have acceptable speed with standard speedhacks, but to run on 60 FPS need MTVU hack and EE and VU hacks.

1.5.0-20160809151530 GSdx SPU2-X Runs at 60 FPS on Hardware Mode (DX 11) at native resolution. Game seems choppier than on actual hardware unless my FPS counter is acting up. I'd recommend getting the git builds of PCXS2, they have MUCH better performance. Also recommend getting a 7200 rpm hard drive too!
NTSC-U Windows 10 x64 Bit
  • Intel Core i7-7700k
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690
1.5.0 3113 GSdx SPU2-X Playable in hardware mode though many slowdowns to about 90% emulation speed espcially in intense scenes. A visual bug you notice right away are 4 vertical bars with changing colours on the upper left side. I suppose the late rendering of specific roads and race barriers are also happening on a PS2. Software mode is painfully slow LeRutY

1.7.0-20210206154110 64-bit GSdx64-alpha SPU2-X (integrated into emulator) This game is really, really, really CPU intensive. Uses MTVU hacks, EE Cyclerate set to 1 and also uses OpenGL mode in GSDX to get smoother full 59.94 FPS, but expect some hiccups. Horizontal tearing also happens in the game. You might need to set skipdraw to 1 to fix green bars on the top left. Requires at least 6 core CPU for emulating this game. amirzaim
