Game description: Kick off a brand-new season of racing with all the speed, glamour, and rivalry of Formula One. Officially licensed from the Formula One Administration Limited, F1 2002 features real drivers, teams, cars, and tracks from the 2002 FIA Formula One World Championship. Join new teams--Toyota and Renault--and complete all-new challenges that test your driving skills. The higher you place in each race, the more points you receive, and the closer you are to the Constructor's Cup.
Formula One 2002 is the second Formula One video game released by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, in November 2002. The game is based on the actual early 2002 season. The game includes the new Hockenheim circuit, the revised Nürburgring track, and the Renault and Toyota teams. The graphics are similar to THQ's MotoGP 2.

Settings

  • SPU2-X 2.0.0
  • LilyPad 0.12.1
BIOS: USA 2.30, The game now works properly thanks to 2 patches released by prafull. These patches are part of the Automatic Gamefixes in v1.5.0 developer builds, so make sure to update your PCSX2 to this version at least if you want to properly play the game. The game fixes disable the initial FMV that was bugged before (it's just logo stuff), and it fixes the controller issue as well. Ryudo

Known Issues

Controller not being detected.

  • Status: Fixed
  • Type: Major
  • Description: When the game reaches the main menu you get an error: 'No Controller in Controller Port 1' causing you to get stuck here.
  • Workaround: Fixed in v1.5.0 developer builds. Prafull's patches are added as Automatic Gamefixes.

FMVs not rendering correctly.

  • Status: Fixed
  • Type: Major
  • Description: The first FMV that plays at the beginning of the game does not render correctly in both hardware and software modes of GSdx.
  • Workaround: Fixed in v1.5.0 developer builds. Prafull's patches are added as Automatic Gamefixes. For older versions: You can skip this particular FMV by pressing X. There is no other solution for this right now. Both hardware and software modes of GSdx have the problem.
Note: It is unknown if other FMVs also suffer from this issue, as it is impossible to play the game further than this FMV.
