Game description: Battle for position at every sweeping bend, high-speed straightaway, and hairpin turn within the world's most glamorous sproting arena. Engage in high stakes racing from Monaco to Monza and take on the most intelligent and daring racers to hit the Formula One circuit.
Only 22 drivers on the planet possess the talent and skill to pilot an F1 car. Are you one of them? Hungry for raw power, lightning-fast acceleration, and white-knuckle cornering? Then take a seat in the cockpit of a real F1 car and feel the rush of turning on a dime or going from 0 to 100 MPH in the time it takes you to read this line.

Test configurations on Windows:

Environment Configurations Comments Tester
Region OS CPU/GPU Revision Graphics Sound/Pad
NTSC-U Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
  • Intel i7-6700K @ 4.00GHz
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB
v1.7.0 (dev-58) GSdx 1.2.0
  • SPU2-X 2.0.0
  • LilyPad 0.12.1
BIOS: USA v02.30, Preset: 3 (Balanced), using the game's own widescreen mode. Goes ingame and runs perfectly stable at full speed. The intro cutscene is broken but can be skipped by pressing START. There are also some minor visual glitches (e.g. flickering textures at the top of the spectator stands around the track) but they're barely noticable. I have played a couple of tracks and didn't run into any other issues. See my video here. TomBoss

Trivia

  • Not to be confused with Formula One 2001
  • The game sets to widescreen when it is prompted by the 16:9 ratio setting in the PS2 internal menu and the widescreen mode is toggled via the ingame settings (HUD gets stretched, see screenshots below).
